Word Counter ("the App") is published by Bulpara Inc ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.

1. Data We Collect

Word Counter is designed to work primarily on your device. We do not run a backend that stores your text or OCR results.

• Text you type, paste, share, import, or scan: Processed on your device so the App can calculate counts, compare limits, and save entries if you choose to keep them.
• Saved entries and presets: Stored locally on your device using Apple's local storage frameworks.
• Preferences: Settings such as default counting mode, onboarding state, and OCR usage counters are stored locally on your device.
• Purchase information: Subscription status is managed through Apple's App Store and StoreKit.

2. Text Processing and OCR

• The App analyzes text on device to calculate words, characters, sentences, paragraphs, and time estimates.
• OCR for photos and scans uses Apple's on-device frameworks.
• Imported TXT and PDF files are read locally on your device.
• We do not transmit your text, OCR content, or imported document contents to our servers.

3. Third-Party Services

The App may use the following third-party services:

• Apple App Store / StoreKit: Handles purchases, subscriptions, billing, and restore flows. Governed by Apple's privacy policy.
• Google AdMob: Used in the free tier to display ads. AdMob may collect device-level identifiers or related advertising data under Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Saved entries, presets, and preferences remain on your device unless you back them up through Apple services you control.
• We do not maintain a remote database of your text content.
• Purchase validation relies on Apple's StoreKit framework.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your saved text, OCR output, or imported content with third parties. Third-party providers such as Apple and Google may process limited device or transaction data as part of subscriptions or advertising.

6. Your Choices

You can:

• Delete saved entries and custom presets within the App
• Disable OCR in Settings
• Delete the App to remove locally stored data from your device

7. Children's Privacy

The App is rated 4+ and is not intended to collect personal data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the date above.
